Invitation from the IDS President
It is my great pleasure to invite you to support and attend the 21st Immunology of Diabetes Society (IDS) Congress, which will be held in Brisbane in 2026. The IDS Congress is the premiere meeting for the international community of researchers, clinicians and industry representatives studying the pathogenesis and treatment of type 1 diabetes. Every 18 months, members of IDS convene to share the latest in cutting edge research, debate big questions in the field, and catch up with old and new colleagues. The Brisbane meeting is sure to be another memorable IDS meeting, and we look forward to your participation.

Invitation from the ADS President
On behalf of the Australian Diabetes Society, it is my pleasure to invite you to the Immunology of Diabetes Society Congress 2026, to be held in Brisbane, Australia. This meeting will bring together our global community of researchers, clinicians, industry partners, philanthropic organisations, and people living with diabetes, united by a shared commitment to advancing understanding of type 1 diabetes and accelerating progress toward its prediction, prevention, and cure.
The Congress will provide a dynamic forum for the exchange of cutting-edge discoveries and translational insights, spanning immunology, β-cell biology, disease prediction, and emerging therapeutic strategies. A key focus will be on how the immune system, pancreas, and broader physiological pathways interact in the development of type 1 diabetes, and how this growing knowledge can be translated into improved clinical care and meaningful disease-modifying interventions.
We look forward to fostering collaboration, stimulating new ideas, and strengthening partnerships across disciplines, all within a supportive and forward-looking scientific environment. We warmly invite you to join us in Brisbane in 2026 for what promises to be an inspiring and impactful meeting, held in Queensland’s vibrant capital and beautiful sunshine state.

Invitation from the ADS CEO
I am delighted to be hosting the IDS and AISG Conference in Brisbane in 2026. There have been significant advancements in type 1 diabetes research that are being translated to clinical practice, such that the possibility of delaying or even preventing this disease is becoming a reality. The Conference will serve as a platform for researchers and clinicians from across the globe to pursue this goal, fostering networking, discussion and collaboration. If you’re coming from overseas, I encourage you to add a few more days to your visit to enjoy our wonderful country. If you are a local, I am sure you will make our international visitors feel welcome. I would like to thank the Organising Committee for their hard work to make this conference the best it can possibly be. I also would like to thank our generous sponsors who have made this conference possible.
Invitation from nPOD
On behalf of the Network for Pancreatic Organ donors with Diabetes (nPOD), we are thrilled to invite you to attend the 2026 Immunology of Diabetes Society (IDS) Congress in Brisbane, Australia.
Addressing complex diseases requires international collaboration and strong scientific networks to advance research and knowledge. nPOD’s mission is to provide tissues from human organ donors with or at risk for T1D to better understand the pathogenesis of the human disease – closely aligns with the goals of the IDS.
Rather than hosting a separate meeting this year, nPOD is honored to collaborate with IDS to bring together the broader type 1 diabetes community at this exciting and dynamic international congress. nPOD will sponsor a scientific session at this year’s IDS meeting, and we encourage all nPOD and IDS members to participate in this global event that unites researchers and healthcare professionals in a collaborative and open environment.
We are incredibly proud of the impactful contributions of nPOD investigators, whose research is advancing the development of improved therapies for type 1 diabetes. This IDS Congress will inspire scientific dialogue and new collaborations, and we look forward to the innovative ideas and projects that will emerge.
We hope to see you in Brisbane!
